Well, it's official, we now have a THREE year old! I let C help choose the theme for his birthday this year, and given the choice between Dr. Suess and sports, it was a no brainer. SPORTS! He was sooooo excited to wake up to the house decorated with all kinds of footballs, basketballs, baseballs, and soccer balls, and absolutely LOVED his sports birthday cake. He loves any and all sports, and his entire day was a reflection of that fact. A perfect day for our little sports fan!
This birthday was especially fun as C was sooooo excited to open gifts, and just completely swept away with each and every one of them. I'll be honest, the first gift he opened was these Iowa Football guys, and he'd likely have been content until Christmas with just this one gift! Ha! Other highlights were: new golf clubs, a train set, scooter, and balance bike. Heaven only knows what his little brother could possibly ask for when his third birthday rolls around!
G, who LOVES any and all things about his big brother, was not about to miss out on a single gift being opened, and was C's little sidekick throughout the entire day.
C, who had been so excited about everything going on and all of his visitors for his birthday, didn't have a great dinner (although dinner was great...T smoked a delicious pork shoulder), but if you think he left one single crumb of his birthday cake on his plate...you would be mistaken! Inside that amazing cake was an excellent chocolate cake with raspberry filling baked and decorated by Playful Cupcaketions. Just thinking about it now makes my mouth water! I seriously my have to have another party just so I can order another cake!
After cake, C enjoyed taking the party outside and testing out his new scooter and golf clubs! For a little guy who isn't super coordinated, he surprised us all by getting the hang of the scooter almost immediately, and has been loving playing golf with his new set of clubs, even convincing T to take him to the golf course for a round here and there.
C has grown up so much in the last year it amazes us, and we can't wait to see what the next year will bring! Happy Birthday C!
