SMILES! Baby S is ALL smiles this month, and is just the absolute sweetest. She is very interested in the world around her, and loves to be talked to.

S's schedule has been relatively consistent this month. She wakes up around 7:30am, naps when she can...usually in the car seat while we are traveling here or there...and is cashed out for the day around 8-8:30pm. She has been sleeping through the night since 4 weeks, but REFUSES to lay flat on her back, so is still in the rock'n'play for naps at home and bedtime. I continue to put her in a swaddle sleep sack at night, but she likes to wiggle around until she busts out a hand or two, so next month we'll probably transition to no swaddling.

S hasn't really been too interested in toys yet, but continues to enjoy kicking around on her Lovevery play mat and trying to figure out the hanging toys.

S is her big brothers' little sidekick for most story times throughout the day. Approximately half of those story times take place while she is nursing...but who's counting? Most of our books involve construction equipment, trucks, sports, or trains, so she is pretty well versed in all things BOY, but hasn't read any 'girly' books yet.

milk.Milk.MILK. S continues to nurse for nearly 100% of her nutrition, but...I DID get her to take TWO small 2 oz. bottles this month - the first was breastmilk, while the second was formula. She took the first much easier, but after crying for about 10-15 minutes, I did eventually get her to take  the bottle of formula (a.k.a. she exhausted herself fighting it and finally gave in). I'm hoping to get her to take a couple of ounces at least once or twice a week so that I can have a little freedom to leave her for more than a couple hours at a time, or enjoy a second glass of wine at dinner!

Happy FOURTH Birthday C!

Tuesday, May 22, 2018

This past weekend, we had a wonderful time celebrating C's FOURTH birthday! He was adamant that he wanted a 'train' themed party, and I was more than happy to find some fun ideas to bring it to life for his birthday! Party planning might just be one of my favorite things, and access to great ideas on Pinterest is also a plus! When the day arrived, C was SOOOooo excited to see all of the fun decorations, and  particularly loved the train track table centerpiece and his birthday cake with 'a train on top' - something he had put in a personal request for. Favorite gifts of the day included a new hockey stick/net set for driveway hockey, Hawkeye football guys, and a new pedal bike with training wheels. Overall though, what C enjoyed most was definitely having all of our family over to help celebrate his day!

Happy Birthday C! We love you so much!
